HABEMUS PAPAM! Petrus Romanus(?)

As the chimney of the Sistine Chapel emitted a white smoke, the Catholic world was in jubilation as the new catholic vicar was  elected after the recent historic and controversial resignation of Pope Benedict XVI of Germany.

Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina became the first pontiff from the Americas and the first from outside Europe in more than a millennium. The pontifical installation of Cardinal Bergoglio was like winning the World Cup championship to the millions of Argentinian Catholics and celebrated in ardor. If the Football World has Messi, the Catholic World now has Bergoglio who are both from the same country.

The 76 years old vicar took the regnal name Pope Francis I in association with the humble 13th century Italian preacher who lived a life of poverty - St. Francis of Assisi.

St. Malachy prophesied that the 112th pope will be the last pope before the last judgement day. Petrus Romanus was the two syllable cryptic codes in Latin assigned to the new pontiff. As the designated cryptic codes to each popes has been cracked, some of them appeared to align with reality in some way.

Bergoglio Family

St. Francis of Assisi's real name is Francesco di Pietro di Bernardone. The English equivalent of  Pietro is Peter which derives from the Latin word PETRUS, where the new pontiff associated his pontifical title to the saint. Pope Francis I 's family originally came from the seat of the Roman Empire - Italy. Does the name Petrus Romanus makes a connection?

His two day reign is still premature to fully crack St. Malachy's cryptic apocalyptic codes, we will read the signs as the days go by.
